Fast Food for a Fast Pace Life!

Fast food is the new way to go now-a-days. Everybody is in such a rush making a living, who has time to prepare and cook for themselves let alone a family? Fast food restaurants are popping up all over the place. It ranges from upscale fancy restaurants to your friendly neighborhood food stop. Eating out is eating out. We do it because we don't desire to take the time to prepare our meals on our own, and with this comes wasting money. Convenience with a cost!

Fast food is a quick fix to our laziness in making a wholesome home cooked meal. It's called fast food because it gives us a quick rush of energy for a moment and then bring us down in our energy. That's why you may feel "sleepy" right after you eat. Little nutritional value what so ever. Don't get me wrong, there are many healthy restaurants out there. They also take their time in preparing your food-about 45 minutes. The point is, there is nothing like a healthy home prepared meal that gives you energy!

Brain Food

"Now where did I put my keys?"
"Well, I thought I just put it on the table?"
"I did give it to you, at least I thought I did."
Can you or someone you know relate to the following I listed? Forgetfulness or lack of concentration is a result of a lack of oxygen and proper nutrition to the brain. You began to lose focus and your memory is loss for short periods of time. The good news is, you don't need a prescription to fix the problem, just some brain food. Walnuts and cauliflower are excellent brain food sources. Also an increase in alkaline water helps the flow of oxygen to the brain.

Food Changes Your Mood!

I had a few situations that took place yesterday and by the evening I was feeling a little down. Although I didn't feel up to it, the urge came to cook. Because I just went food shopping and bought a rainbow of fresh vegetables, just sitting in the refrigerator would just have them go to waste. So, I began with just making split pea soup, then I grabbed the cauliflower to make a salad. I started feeling better as I began to clean the vegetables and prepare them for the dishes I had in mind to create. By the time I finished I had five different dishes and I felt great! It was the colors that did something to me and eating them felt even better.

Signature Foods

Signature food tells you what purpose they serve. Carrots are great for the eyes. Strawberries are great for the heart. Walnuts and cauliflower are great for your brain. There's more, but just a few to get you started. So if you have a challenge in your body with what I just mentioned, just reach for and eat the food that will help make it better.

Your Food Controls Your Energy!

Depending on what you eat during the course of a day will determine your energy level. Raw fruits and vegetables give you a spark of energy, providing the body with essential vitamins. However, chips, dip, cookies, you fill in the rest....give you a temporary fix, just for the moment. It's a false sense of energy...and YOU REALLY FEEL IT, but then you come down and begin to feel sluggish/sleepy.
